Welcome to the home page of Leicestershire and Rutland Beekeepers Association (LRBKA).
LRBKA is a registered charity, founded in 1882 .Currently our membership is around 300 beekeepers mostly located within the two English counties of Leicestershire (pronounced Lester-shire) and Rutland.
Our Charity Objective is "To preserve the honeybee, by promoting the craft of beekeeping and educating the public of the benefit of bees to the environment."
With our own 2 teaching apiaries at Walton and Brooksby and lecture facility at Brooksby we are one of the best equipped associations in the UK offering training and support to old & new beekeepers alike.
If you are considering starting beekeeping or are an experienced beekeeper you are most welcome to join the LRBKA. The new beekeeper can expect support and training whilst the more experienced beekeeper can enjoy the company of other beekeepers and keep up to date with what's happening in the local bee world.
We have weekly meetings at the Apiaries in the summer; monthly winter meetings and social events and a bi-monthly newsletter.
On this website you will find details of our association as well as other useful beekeeping information.
